I have a windows CE 6.0 device (Motorola MC9190) and we are using the windows RDP client to connect to a server. The problem is that the user name field to login is locked by the size of the textbox on the screen. The Microsoft Windows CE RDP client supports both current implementations of its RDP Protocol. If I have a longer login name like JohnathanRodriguez1 then the user name field will only allow JohnathanRodriguez and there is not enough room for the last character.

I have installed Windows server 2012 RDS license on a new Windows server 2012 R2 machine. We need the ability to RDP in from mobile handhelds (Motorola mc 9090 and mc 9100) running CE 5.0 and 6.0. The situation we have is that our HP Windows CE 6 and HP Linux Thin Clients are unable to logon. HP Linux and CE 6 Thin Clients unable to RDP to Server. We use Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Server with no Remote Desktop Gateway, we have have 3 Server 2008 R2 DC's in use, and 3 different versions of HP thin clients on the local LAN: Windows 7 Embedded (Domain Joined), Windows CE 6.

The really strange part is the field is limited by visible space, if I type in all i's I can get 49 characters into the field. If I type in all W's I can only get 8 characters in the field.
Is there a way that I can autopopulate the filed? or get around this restriction?

I have installed Windows server 2012 RDS license on a new Windows server 2012 R2 machine. We need the ability to RDP in from mobile handhelds (Motorola mc 9090 and mc 9100) running CE 5.0 and 6.0. When I try and RDP in I get an error message 'Internal error has occurred' on the handhelds.

After some research I found that it's due the the server using a SHA2 or 2048-bit certificate. Does anyone know of any workarounds for this?

If Windows CE 5.0 doesn't support modern certificate standards, I highly doubt you're going to get an update from Microsoft to change that. Your only choice if you need those clients to work is to reduce the security on your 2012 R2 machine by giving it a cert that your clients are compatible with.
